Summer time is busy for everyone. On the farm we are busy in the fields trying to get feed ready for the winter. Doing this is important to make sure we have enough feed for all our animals. The Famer is out almost every day on the tractor either mowing, raking, baling, picking up the bales or cultivating. He works tirelessly from sun up to sun down, and usually comes home after Little Farmer is in bed, quietly eats his dinner and sleeps until he has to do it all again the next day. He provides for my family and yours.
To get to our fields he has to use the roads. More and more often I see drivers zooming around to pass him with the tractor and equipment, usually almost causing an accident. Most of the time I am with Little Farmer not far behind, frustrated that the driver can't wait a minute to pass. As a mom and a wife it's scary to see a potentially dangerous situation happen to my family.
So the next time you see agricultural equipment on the road, please slow down and think for a moment about all the hard work that farmer is doing to provide for his animals, his family and yours. And is risking my family’s life worth that extra minute.
